The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in South America, which borders Guyana, Brazil and Columbia, has today, 15th of March 2020, confirmed a total of 10 cases of the deadly coronavirus.
Jorge Rodriguez, Venezuela’s Minister of Information and Communication, has today confirmed that after testing 30 more persons, a total of 8 more persons tested positive, adding to a previous 2 confirmed cases which drives the total number of confirmed cases up to 10 in Venezuela.
The infected persons were advised to stay at home and avoid contact with other people so as not to facilitate the spread of the contagious disease. In addition, the Minister advised Venezuelans to exercise caution when leaving home and to wear masks as much as possible. The use of mask has been declared mandatory at bus stations throughout Venezuela.
Furthermore, Venezuela has suspended flights coming from the Dominican Republic and Panana over concerns that the high incidence of coronavirus in those countries could lead to transmission in Venezuela. Furthermore, passengers from blacklisted countries often use those countries as a transit point to travel to Venezuela.
Finally, he related that all incoming passengers from Spain, Italy, United States and France will be put in quarantine for recommended window period.
