The United States’ continously failed attempts to remove Nicolas Maduro from power is plumetting into a fit of desperation, with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announcing on the 1st of May, 2019 that a military invasion of Venezuela is “possible.”
But will Russia sit back and let that happen? Russia’s investments into Venezuela (which it stands to loose if Maduro is ousted) amounts to the trillions of US Dollars, and Putin is not about to sit back and let that happen. In fact, hours after Mike Pompeo made the statement that a United States military operation in Venezuela is possible, Russia’s foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, warned the United States that “further aggressive steps” will be met with gravest consequences. Aside from the fact that Venezuela has mounted (and is ready to use) the best anti-aircraft weapons in South America, there is another spoke in the US Army’s wheel: the watchful eyes of the Russian Military looking at America like a cat ready to pounce on and devour the hapless mouse.
Will the leaders of the United States be foolish enough to ignore Russia’s warning? And if they are, will this trigger another world war? Only time will tell.
Last year, President Putin demonstrated to the United States that Russia’s nuclear weapons are capable of bypassing the United States’ defense systems. And US defense officials have admitted that they fear Russia’s “doomsday device:” a nuclear submarine which could trigger tsuamis off America’s coasts and wipe out major US cities.
Yesterday, US backed opposition leader, Juan Guaidó, declared the “final phase of operation freedom” for Venezuela, but hours later, Maduro declared yet another failed coup attempt.

Throughout this desperate power struggle, the millions of suffering and starving Venezuelans are nothing more than collateral damage. When will the power hungry war mongers realize that we only take two things with us when we die? And that is our good deeds on one hand and the evil on the other.
Please join with us in prayer for a peaceful resolution of Venezuela’s conflicts.
