The Maduro Regime has yesterday, 3rd of May, 2020, reported that the Venezuelan military has managed to thwart an invasion attempt into Venezuelan soil by killing 8 attackers and capturing 2. The event is said to have taken place before daybreak on Monday, May 3, 2020.

According to a spokesperson for the Maduro Regime, the perpetrators of the dangerous act were contracted by opposition Juan Guiado and are supported by the United States. One of those captured is a Venezuelan who once worked for the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) in Venezuela – an organization that was expelled from Venezuela in 2015.

The attackers were allegedly attempting to infiltrate Venezuela’s borders using speedboats from Colombia when Venezuelan intelligence picked them up and launched a counter-attack. This, according to the Maduro Regime, resulted in the foiling of the incursion by “terrorists” and “foreign mercenaries.”

Diosdada Cabello, president of the National Constituent Assembly, said that some of the mercenaries were captured in uniforms and even helmets with the United States flag. “Sure of a gringuism fanatic who feels marine,” he stressed.

This event took place about one month after Donald Trump put a 15 million US dollars bounty on Maduro’s head and accused him of Narco-terrorism. The United States had also last month moved warships into the Caribbean Sea within proximity of Venezuela.

Meanwhile, opposition leader, Juan Guaido, whom the United States and over 50 other countries recognize as Venezuela’s interim president, has said that Maduro is wrongfully accusing him of planning with the alleged attackers to assassinate key government officials of the Maduro Regime in order destabilize and facilitate a US takeover of the country.

This latest development will only serve to escalate tensions between Venezuela, the United States and Colombia.

“All the units of the national territory remain on alert,” Venezuela’s Defense Minister, Padrino López, has warned, while reiterating “absolute loyalty” to President Nicolás Maduro.
