The body of businesswoman Joseane Gomes da Silva, 29, shot to death, was released on Monday morning (24) at the Instituto Médico Legal (IML), in Boa Vista. The victim must be buried in the city of Vitorino Freire, in Maranhão, where the mother lives.
Joseane Silva was shot dead. Her body was found on a street in the Mecejana neighborhood, around 10:30 pm this Sunday (23).
The Civil Police treats crime as a case of femicide. According to the Military Police, the main suspect is a military police officer with whom the victim had a relationship.
“The charges are allegedly against a military police officer,” said Colonel Magalhães José Damasceno, head of the Capital Policing Command (CPC).
In the body’s release report, it appears that the businesswoman died as a result of hypovolemic shock (hemorrhage) caused by a gunshot wound.
Her body was released from the IML to her father and a cousin, and should be transferred to Maranhão on Tuesday (25).
“The main suspect in the crime has not yet been arrested and has not yet appeared,” said the Civil Police.
Joseane owned a clothing store in the Pintolândia neighborhood, in Boa Vista. According to a cousin, the family received information that the victim’s car was at the suspect’s mother’s home and now they are trying to recover the vehicle.
