The Venezuelan military has moved an array of tanks, missile launchers and aircraft were moved near to the border with Colombia.

Before leaving for a United Nations meeting in the United States this Saturday, President of Colombia, Ivan Duque, warned Nicolas Maduro that he would be “making a stupid mistake” if he attacks Colombia.

The Colombian President also made note of the fact that the Rio Treaty has been invoked and that there would be grave repercussions in the event of any Venezuelan aggression.

As tensions continue to flare between the two neighboring countries, there is worldwide speculation that the United States is setting the stage for an armed invasion.

Nicolas Maduro has made it clear that he has no intention of attacking Colombia but to protect the sovereignty of his own country. As of the 10th of September, 2019, Nicolas Maduro has moved 150,000 troops in addition to anti-aircraft artillery to the border with Colombia. The troops are presently carrying out anti-invasion drills. So far, no shots have been fired but it is very tense situation.

Ivan Duque also commented that Nicolas Maduro is a “brutal person” whose reign “must come to an end.”

“The Colombian oligarchy wants to set the stage for an armed invasion of Venezuela,” Venezuelan Communications Minister Jorge Rodriguez said recently.
