On rare occasions, younger people would have access to such material through sneaky and underground methods or through businesses which willfully flout the laws. But even if they did, there came the other problem of concealing it and playing it on the TV set when no one is around.
Fast forward to the year 2021 and everything has changed – drastically. Today, there are websites offering streaming videos of the most extreme sex acts for all and sundry. And it is limited only to one’s imagination. In fact, the pornographic content being presented on the scores of porn sites on the world wide web keep pushing new boundaries. It only leaves one to wonder how all of this will end, and if it ever will
Nowadays, porn sites and educational sites are lying side by side, and the only thing that separate the two categories are a few keywords. Looking for the structure of an atom? Just type it in. Looking for….you know what! Just type it in! And young children these days know exactly what to type in! In an interview with 24 children in the state of California aged 12 to 14 years, 100% of these kids knew at least one porn tube site, and 100% of them have explored these sites unknown (or indifferent) to their parents or guardians.
And just when you think it couldn’t get any worse, it does! Most of these children have “favorite keywords” that they use to find their favorite genres of porn. The answers would shock you! Not really. You and I both know it has become a norm right now. The freedom of the internet has made porn all two accessible to children of all ages. And it is spiraling out of control with now laws to hold it in check.
A few years ago, parents used censorship software to block their children’s access to adult content. But nowadays, these software have become obsolete, outdated and useless. Children know how to get around it, and porn tubes readily bypass them. Parents are no match for the tech savvy internet generation that is coming up today. Being tech savvy is good, but unfortunately, these children are learning a few things they shouldn’t – these young minds are being steered into some very perverted directions.
A few years ago, phones were banned from classroom, but today, the classroom is in the phone. Separating kids from their smartphones and internet is akin to depriving them of an education. Unfortunately, they are being fed a different kind of education as well: sex education – and not the kind you would want in the school curriculum. Nowadays’ kids know a few things they shouldn’t – and that’s thanks to the lack of censorship of what’s going on on the world wide web.
So far, there are no laws in place to restrain the free reign of pornography on the internet, and there is no censorship to prevent children from accessing it. One simply has to click a button to “agree” that they are over 18 years of age without anyone verifying it. It’s so easy, even a child could do it! And they do!
Today, billions of people access free porn tube sites – people of all age ranges – and the lower end range has no cap. The average porn video gets millions of hits per month – arousing webmasters to rush to grab their share of the profits. Porn site creators are now coming up with new and innovative ways of attracting content and viewers. Many free porn sites today also offer free download. They further pay for “amateur videos” so people can now upload their sex acts and “make money” based on hits.
With the advance of internet technology – cheaper and faster data plans and internet almost everywhere, smartphones and laptops in almost every child’s room, curious minds are now having a field day on the internet – sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worst. If someone had predicted this twenty years ago, they would have been called crazy. The question is: what are we going to do about it?
