Last updated: May 17, 2020 at 0:12 amBrazil’s Health Ministry has confirmed with this publication that as of the 17th of May, 2020 there were more than 234,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Brazil and at least 15,633 persons dead from the virus.
The upward spiral of coronavirus cases show no sign of slowing down as Brazil is now marked as the 4th or 5th most affected country in the world by the deadly and contagious coronavirus.
Most of the cases are still concentrated in the state of Sao Paulo with a total of 61,183 confirmed cases and 4,688 coronavirus related deaths. The second most affected state is Ceara with a total of 23,795 confirmed cases and 1,614 deaths.
Worldwide, there are more than 4.63 million confirmed coronavirus cases and more than 311,000 coronavirus related deaths.
