Our last report, on the 21st of March, 2020, stated that there was an increase of 528 cases of the coronavirus in Brazil within a 2-days period. That has gotten worse. Between the 21st to the 23rd of March, there were a total of 900 NEW confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Brazil, a figure which shows an exponential increase over time of the highly contagious virus.
So far, the majority of infections has been in the State of Sao Paulo with 745 confirmed cases and 30 persons dead from the virus.
Amazonas, one of the hottest states in Brazil, and one of the hottest places on earth, grew from 7 to 32 confirmed cases within a 2-days period, refuting claims that the heat impedes the spread of the virus.
The northernmost state of Roraima, which borders with Guyana, only has two confirmed cases: a couple who had recently returned from Sao Paulo.
