Brazil’s Health Ministry has confirmed with this publication that, as of 29th of April, 2020, the country of Brazil has recorded a total of 79,162 cases of the coronavirus. Of these, 34,132 persons have recovered and 5466 persons have died from the coronavirus, leaving 38,564 active cases. In the last 24 hours alone, nearly 500 persons have died from the coronavirus in Brazil.
The most heavily hit state is Sao Paulo, with 26,158 confirmed cases and 2247 persons dead from the virus. After that is the state of Rio de Janeiro with 8869 confirmed cases and 794 persons dead.
The northernmost state of Roraima, which borders with Guyana and Venezuela, has 452 cases and 6 deaths.
