Notice that we ended the title above with a question mark. That’s because we can never be 100% sure how exactly Vietnam has managed to “hands down” win the war against coronavirus. We can however, speculate. What we do know is this: it is winning.

On the 23rd of January, 2020, Vietnam confirmed its first case of the coronavirus. Three months later, that number grew to only 268. Remarkably, there were zero deaths and 216 persons had recovered, leaving just 52 active cases and a recovery rate of 80.5%.

So what is Vietnam doing that the rest of the world isn’t doing? We’ve done some research and uncovered some information which may be useful.

On a Vietnamese website, an article published on the 2nd of February, 2020 reported (in the Vietnamese language) that there were 3 cases of the coronavirus in Vietnam at that time. The website noted that:

In the past, we (Vietnam) passed H5N1 and Sars (WHO recognized Vietnam as the first country to successfully prevent Sars, Ebola, …). So no matter what virus emerges, we can still control it. Please use the following spices as in the Oriental Medicine or Nutrition industry as a panacea to protect your health.
