Coronavirus Brazil: 20,173 Confirmed Cases, 1084 Dead

Brazil’s Ministry of Health has confirmed with this publication that, as of this morning, 11th of April, 2020, there are a total of 20,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 1056 persons dead from the virus.

In our last report of the coronavirus in Brazil 7 days ago, there were 9400 confirmed cases and 356 persons had died. Within a 7 days period, the number of confirmed cases has more than doubled and the number of deaths due to coronavirus has tripled.

The most affected region is the state of Sao Paulo with 8216 confirmed cases and 540 deaths. The state of Roraima, which borders with Guyana and Venezuela, registered 75 confirmed cases and 3 deaths due to coronavirus.

Brazil has sealed off borders with all neighboring countries, including Guyana and Venezuela to the North of Brazil.

Worldwide, there are over 1.7 million confirmed cases of coronavirus and over 100,000 coronavirus related deaths.
