Spain’s Health Ministry has confirmed with this publication that, as of today, 21st of March 2020, there are 24,926 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Spain. So far, 1,326 people have been killed by the virus in the country and at least 2125 have recovered. The population of Spain is about 47 million.
The infection is spread out across the country with the highest concentration – 8921 cases – in Madrid.
At present, there are 122,919 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Europe and 237,825 confirmed cases of the rapidly spreading virus in the world.
The European country with the highest coronavirus mortality rate so far is Italy, with over 4000 deaths.
