Global Epidemic: 15 Countries Confirm Cases of Coronavirus

The deadly coronavirus is approaching the level of a global epidemic as a total of 15 countries have reported confirmed cases of the virus.

The latest cases were reported in Japan and Germany. The affected persons in these two countries did not travel to China, but had contact with people who had traveled from China.

On Tuesday, 28th January, 2020, Brazilian Health Officials have raised their alert level from 1 to 2 after a “very likely” case of the virus in Minas Gerais had been reported. The woman, a 22 years-old student, had returned from Wuhan, China on the 24th of January, 2020 and was rushed to the hospital last night with all the symptoms consistent of coronavirus.

However, Brazil health officials have stated that the results of this case will be out by Friday, January 31. The Brazilian Ministry of Health has also advised citizens not to panic as Brazil is capable of fighting and containing the coronavirus if it reaches Brazil.

The following countries have reported confirmed cases of the coronavirus: Australia, Singapore, United States, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, France, Vietnam, Cambodia, Canada, Germany, Nepal, Thailand, Sri Lanka and of course, China.
