For 19 days, no one moved a muscle in combating the deadly fire outbreak in various parts of the Amazon Rainforests in Brazil – even while Bolivia, one of the poorest countries in South America, hired the world’s biggest fire fighter aircraft to combat its fire.

On Thursday, 22nd of August, 2019, under international pressure and facing threats of sanctions, the Brazilian president alerted Ministry officials to meet the next day to discuss putting measures in place to fight the forest fires.

On Friday, 23rd of August, the decree was signed authorizing the Brazilian military start combating the fires.

As of the morning of Saturday, 24th of August, 2019, the Brazilian military is still to be deployed.

There is worldwide speculation that many of the fires were set intentionally as part of an industrialization process approved by the Brazilian government.
