The Power of Writing It Down
Internet marketers may tell you that “the money is in the list”. That is, a “list” of prospects in their autoresponders that they can email from time to time about new product offers. But time management experts will tell you that “the power is in the list”. That is, the list of things that you wrote down and keep in your pocket or somewhere close to you. That is, a list of things you need to get done.
The Power of the Mind.
I started using the list about eight years back to “not forget” some rather “important things” that I needed to get done. That was at a time when my life was spiraling into a hectic schedule. And I was amazed at the results. I would glance at this list from time to time and strike off what I had already gotten done. After a few strike-offs, I would rewrite a clean list of things, sometimes reincorporating some of the unaccomplished tasks from the old list.
Here’s the deal. The problem is not so much finding the time to get things done. It is remembering to get it done when an ample opportunity arises. And once you’ve got that list, glancing at it from time to time, your mind interprets the items on that list as commands.
You’ll be amazed at how many things you’ve scratched off from your list as “accomplished” within a twenty-four or forty-eight hour period, once you keep that list close to you and keep banging on your conscious and subconscious mind to “get the job done”.
