You have often heard sayings such as, “your belief is your cure” or “to belief is to achieve.” Indeed, some statements get passed down through generations because they hold water: there is some amount of truth in them -if they are not entirely true.

But what’s more is that the power of “faith” or “belief” is backed by many religious texts, including the bible. When a woman came to Jesus for healing, He said to her, “your faith has made you whole.” Jesus also mentioned that if your faith is the size of a mustard seed, you can move a mountain into the ocean.

Indeed, if we all knew “how to believe” we would solve so many problems! Yes, we would move mountains! But the sad thing is that most humans don’t understand how to believe. Humans are generally of “little faith.” One bible story illustrates this point well. When Jesus was in the boat with his disciples at sea, a dreadful storm came. In panic, the disciples rushed to Jesus in the deck below. When Jesus awoke, the bible tells us that “Jesus wept.” He said, “oh ye of little faith….” Indeed, our lack of faith makes God weep.

There is another bible story where Jesus invited Peter to walk on the water of the sea with Him. Trusting the Master, Peter stepped onto the waves and walked on the water, but when he saw the giant waves ahead, he became afraid and started to sink. Jesus put for His hands and pulled him up. Our fears cause us to sink in the ocean of life, but our faith in God causes us to do the impossible.

Today, put your faith to work for you. Believe that God is doing something amazing for you. Believe that He has paid off all your debts and healed all your diseases. Believe that He is making your dreams a reality. Believe that He is working a miracle in your life. Believe that He is taking you to higher grounds. And He will.
