Izzy Azalea

Izzy Azalea, real name: Amethyst Amelia Kelly, is an Australian born rapper who moved to the United States at the age of 16.

She landed in Miami, Florida, and her hit song “Work,” which seems to be a story of her own life, mentioned this explicitly.

What amazed me about myself is that I never really heard of Izzy until the year 2018. Not that I’m the biggest music fanatic in the world or anything: I just hear what’s playing, but yes, a few songs do hook me.

And how did I hear about Izzy Azalea? I was working at the Amazonas Restaurant and Bar in Lethem when a customer requested the remote. He punched up some search terms and Izzy’s “Fancy” started playing.

I fell in love with that song, and at the same time, Izzy Azalea’s music. I’ll tell you more about the song “Fancy,” in my next article.

Let’s just say that Izzy has turned into one of my favorite singers overnight. It’s a shame that I never knew of her from before, but I have an excuse. What’s that? I was travelling a lot!
