Jesus’ disciples started to panic and ran to wake Him up. When Jesus came to the deck, he said, “oh ye of little faith!” Then He put forth His hand and the storm receded. In His words and actions, Jesus suggested that we can, through faith, even change the weather!
On another occassion, Jesus preached that if we had faith the size of a mustard seed, we can say to a mountain, “be thou removed and be planted in the middle of the sea,” and it will obey! But the key here is faith! We must say that with unshakable faith or it will not happen. A mustard seed is so small small, just one millimeter, that you can balance it on your fingertips. And all you need is faith the size of a mustard seed to move an entire mountain! What if you had faith the size of a watermelon?!
A friend once asked me if God gave me one wish what I would wish for. I replied, I would ask for faith the size of a mustard seed! Because, with faith the size of a mustard seed, I could command an entire mountain to move to the sea! If I could command a mountain into the sea, I could do a lot more things!
Today, because of the lack of faith in the living God and in the name of Jesus, a lot of people are suffering! If only people had faith! We must pray that people draw closer to God and grow in faith.
One day, I was looking at the Kanuku Mountain Ranges when I wondered, what if the people around here had faith the size of a mustard seed and then, one day, for some reason, one of them told the mountain to be planted into the middle of the Atlantic Ocean! Imagine the chaos! We wouldn’t have this beautiful view anymore, not to mention the death and disruption of wildlife! As silly as it sounds, this thought made me wonder if I should thank God for a lack of faith!
No matter how much faith we have, we should always be careful to ask for things which are in keeping with the will of God. The will of God overrides al! With faith even lesser than the size of a grain of mustard seed, we can heal the sick and do all sorts of miracles! God will only give faith to those who obey His will and whose heart aligns with the heart of God.
