Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 2 Corinthians: 25

I recently watched a video on Facebook which inspired me to write this article. Before I tell you the thoughts that this video inspired, I’ll post the video right here so you can have a look for yourself.

The video depicts the story of a young soldier running for his life from a pursuing enemy. He gets into an abandoned house and hides in one of the rooms. He then prays for God’s protection over his life. God uses a spider to weave a web on the entrance to the room where the soldier was hiding.

This caused the enemy not to search there, thinking that no one must be in there, since they couldn’t have passed without breaking the spider’s web.

Humans use intelligence to survive in today’s world. Science and earthly wisdom has taught us so much. Soldiers use camouflage and survival tactics during a war. Doctors use their understanding of molecular biology to fight diseases, and engineers use their understanding of the laws of science to develop machines that make life easier.

But after thousands of years of diligent studies, there are still medical conditions that doctors are unable to successfully treat. No matter how strong and well trained our soldiers become, they still die in the war. And after thousands of years of perfecting machines, many people still struggle to make ends meet.

The bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 1:19 that God will “destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

In the book of Psalms, David writes, “If God does not watch over the city, the watchman watches in vain.”

God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 2 Corinthians: 27

And how true that is! Intruders have been able to penetrate steel doors backed up by advanced security systems. But here is a case where God uses a spider’s web to protect a human life. How awesome is our God then! He defies all logic.

He turns our problems into solutions, our nights into day and our water into wine.

Without God, the strongest fortress can be broken, but with Him, the flimsiest spider web will protect.

Without God, the greatest intelligence will serve no purpose. But with Him, even foolishness will turn into wisdom.

If you haven’t yet given God a place in your life, God is reaching out. God sent His Son. They called Him Jesus. He came to love, heal and forgive.

For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom  of God. 2 Corinthians 22 – 24.
