Sometimes in life, we feel cheated. We feel like we’re standing on the sidelines watching good things happen for everyone else but ourselves. And we may wonder if God has forgotten us. In these times, the ugly green eyed monster, jealousy, tends to rear its ugly head. We tend to become jealous of what others have. And this distracts us from all the blessings that God has bestowed upon us. If we put ourselves in this mindset, we remove ourselves from God’s grace and mercies. We lose the attitude of gratitude which is what brings more goodness into our lives.
The next time you see something good happening for someone, especially if it’s something similar to what you have longed for, be thankful and joyful for them, bless and praise God for the good thing He has done for that person knowing that God can and will do the same or similar for you. Feel happy for that person, and very soon you will feel the happiness of that person.
About a hundred years ago, famous Gospel singer Jim Reeves wrote and sang a beautiful song to cheer us up in times when we may feel down. “It is no secret, what God can do.”
Listen to and sing this song during times when you feel that life has dealt you some bad cards. Know that God’s grace is coming your way too, and it will.
