David wrote in the Book of Psalms, “I have seen the wicked arising, and spreading himself like a green bay tree, but I return and could not find him; I sought him but he was no more.” The Books of Psalms and Proverbs, which deal largely with righteous living and wisdom, provides perfect guidance on how to live a good life which is pleasing in the sight of God.
A lot of people gain wealth in the wrong way. Some through deceit, others through usury, on the backs of the poor, and the list goes on. God warns us of the dangers of engaging in such practices.
He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
The above verse makes it clear that God is always watching and executing justice and judgement, or the laws that He set in motion does it automatically. God takes from those who gains through unrighteousness and gives it to those who please Him.
God warns us against gaining wealth through oppressing the poor, deceit, and draconian practices.
