A Timely Reminder

In the early part of the year 2022, while I was doing business in the city of Campo Verde, Mato Grosso, Brazil, along with writing my books, building my websites, and other projects, my ship hit rough waters. Things started to go awry, and I started to face financial difficulties. I had been in the city for about two years.

I fought to stay in the city, because I absolutely loved it, but things kept getting worse. I knew I had to move in order to prevent a financial disaster. As I was talking to my taxi driver about getting some stuff sold, he joked, “so what are you leaving for me?” I explained to him that I would try my best to leave something, but that I was facing financial difficulties, and that’s why I was leaving, and I would need to sell most of the stuff.

“I’m just kidding,” he laughed. Then he added, “God will light your path. You’re a person of a good heart.” And to be honest, I needed to hear those words. They were a timely reminder. It was God speaking to me through him.

As I was in my final days in the city, getting ready to travel, I saw a Facebook post from one of my friends that read, “God says, ‘I break you because I’m taking your somewhere. Trust in the situation I put you in.'” For many people, this may be just a random Facebook post, but for me, it was God speaking to me, encouraging me, and reminding me that, while to the human eye it may look as though things are going awry, God is doing nothing less than taking me from grace to glory.

Throughout my life, God has spoken to me in subtle yet glaring ways. Whether it be through the text at the back of a t-shirt, the writing at the rear windshield of a car, a Facebook post, or the random words of a stranger. These words were timely, meaningful, fulfilling, never failing messages from God.
