To keep you by my side.
I wish I’d found the right thoughts
At the right time
When you looked in my eyes.
I wish I’d said
What you needed to hear
To keep you near
When I whispered in your ear
To see you fall asleep…
And kiss you on your beautiful face
And stay awake
Just to watch you dreaming.
