advertisment photoI mentioned in one of my articles that we are living in the age of the confident self – published author – the author who so is firmly convicted on the merits of his work that he does not wait for the fairy godmother to wave the magic wand – or for any stamp of approval. The true writer works through the joyful process of publishing and marketing his own book. It’s a lot of work, but it’s a labor of love.

I mentioned in another article that “without advertising you don’t have a business.” Not even a book business. Writing is business, and books are big business. And like any other business, you need advertisement: in a variety of forms.

One of the greatest options for writers in today’s age is the Amazon Advertising service. If you already have a book published or self-published on Amazon.com, you can give Amazon book advertising services a shot. I heard there were some awesome results.

At the time of this writing, Amazon only offers the option of advertising your kindle books. To get started, go to: https://ams.amazon.com/.

You will have two options:

  1. Sponsored Products Ads
  2. Product Display Ads

You can start with a daily budget of just $5.00, which definitely wouldn’t hurt your wallet, but can bring you amazing results. Most authored have reported a higher success rate with Sponsored Products Ads, but you should experiment to find what works best for your book.

You also have the option of choosing between:

  1. Manual Targeting
  2. Automatic Targeting

I would personally recommend manual targeting, but you can test both to see what works best for you.

Then you will need to set your bid amount. That is, how much you’re willing to pay for each click. The higher you bid, the more frequent your ads will appear, and the faster you’ll get clicks. The average bid is 0.50 dollars.

So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and give Amazon Book Marketing a shot today. It just might work for you.
