I never thought I’d fall in love with a cold blooded killer. And I never thought I’d recommend a movie with so much cold blooded murder.
But amazingly, it looks like I’ve fallen in with the cold-blooded psycho killer, Mona, in the movie “Home Sweet Hell.”
I actually launched into the sofa when the movie was about half-way through, but I was still able to follow the plot.
I caught the film when Don was talking to Dusty and she was asking him “for the money.” Looking nervous as hell, Don finally admitted that he has “no money.”
“Not even the 13,000?” Dusty asked desperately?
“No!” Don said even more nervously..
Then Dusty started to reel backward. Was it the psychological trauma brought on by this shock confession? No, it turns out that Don had poisoned her drink.
“You drugged me!” she shouted desperately as she scrambled to keep her balance.
“Yes, I’m sorry!” Don admits.
Dusty manages to grab an object and hit Don before running for the door. But, weak from poison, she collapses.
Mona, Don’s wife, comes out of hiding and helps Don load Dusty into the car trunk. They took her to a location where Mona would dismember the dead body using a chainsaw.
But when they opened the trunk, Dusty was still alive, although somewhat unconscious.
“Get a hammer and kill her,” said Mona the cold blooded.
Don gets a hammer but starts to freak out. So Mona takes the hammer and deals Dusty a blow to the head, putting the final nail in the coffin so to speak.
But Dusty wasn’t to be buried in a coffin! After emotionlessly dismembering her and then taking a shower, Mona, with the help of Don, buries Dusty in the flower garden.
But the plot thickens. Here’s the scoop. Don and Mona are married. Don was having an affair with Dusty. Dusty and her husband, a drug dealer and criminal, were plotting to get money from Don.
So first, Dusty had told Don that she was pregnant. At which point Don offered her 13000 to keep quiet and go away. However, Dusty refused and asked for 25,000. At that point, Don decided that the only way out was to confide in her wife, Mona.
Upon hearing the story, Mona instructed Don to murder Dusty. Hence, the scenario with the poisoned drink.
A few days later, Don receives a demand from Dusty’s boyfriend, Murphy, to meet him at a strip club. Fearing a retribution, he complied.
He tells the man that Dusty had packed her bag and left for another city. Murphy then sadistically tells Don that if he doesn’t pay him 25,000, he is going to rape his wife, daughter and then son.
Don tells Mona the story and she comes up with another plan. Together, they unearth Dusty’s remains, packs it into a bag and heads over to Dusty’s house with the intention of framing Murphy.
The plan was to plant Dusty’s remains in the fridge and then alert the police, making it look like Murphy had murdered Dusty.
But as she was in the act, Don’s friend came in with a woman. They were in the process of making love when Mona, already having planted the body parts in the freezer, comes out of hiding.
There is a confrontation and Mona wittingly and skillfully murders the two.
She then calmly walks back to the car where Don was waiting and made a call to the police to report a “disturbance” before they drove off.
Meanwhile, the dying man in the house manages to place a call to Murphy and tells him that it was Mona who had committed the act.
By the time Murphy get’s over, his friend was already dead.
I’ll cut the story short, and I’ll tell you this: Mona’s performance was so seductive that I was sorry when she was killed in the end – by her own coward husband.
It’s the first time in my life I felt sorry for a cold blooded killer in a movie!
