Books Recommended or Recommended Books? It’s the same thing, isn’t it? It certainly is.

But what are books recommended by Patrick Carpen? And why books recommended by Patrick Carpen?

The answer is simple. The world is full of books, and some of them just don’t deliver the goods. With that being said, I make it my personal, God-given duty to separate the wheat from the chaff. And no! I’m not a farmer.

Some books are boring, some books are sad; some books make you fall asleep and some keep you awake all night. There are books to entertain you and books to teach, and books which both entertain and teach.

But which books should you read, and when? There are some books which attempt to teach a subject but falls off the target. Some books miss the point after the first few chapters, while others get you staring into space after just a few pages.

I read a book on JavaScript web programming language some years back that left me in the middle of the wilderness. I didn’t know where to put the next piece of code. Skipping crucial pieces of information in technical books is a good way to lose your reader before they breathe the first sigh of satisfaction.

Coming to this point, I must mention “WordPress: The Missing Manual”. This is simply an amazing book and is largely responsible for helping me to build the very website you are reading now.

The book carefully considers every step and every level of technical knowledge. If you ever need to learn how to build a website using WordPress, I strongly recommend this book.

I will be writing more about WordPress: The Missing Manual as well as other great books, both in the entertaining and technical categories, here on my website.

Keep reading and have fun!
