In human mathematics<\/a>, we learn that 2 + 2 = 4. We learn that eight pints make one\u00a0gallon; 1000 ml makes one liter and twelve inches make one foot. That’s man’s mathematics<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But what about God’s mathematics<\/a>. That is a little different. In fact, it is a LOT different. God has power over all laws of nature and of man; simply because He is God, and He is a God who is wanting to make his power known.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

When I was at the Assembly of God Church<\/em> in Lethem some time back, the preacher spoke of God’s mathematics<\/a>. And he spoke with such passion and conviction that tears almost flowed from his eyes, and the eyes of those listening.<\/p>\n

He told the story of the widow who cried to the prophet\u00a0Elisha “the creditors are coming to take away my sons, for I have nothing in my house to pay with”.<\/p>\n

All she had was a small bottle of olive oil. It was a very very<\/em> small bottle of oil. The prophet Elisha told her to borrow as many barrels as possible from all the people in the village and then lock the door behind her and her sons. He instructed her to take the small bottle of oil and pour it into the barrels until they were all full.<\/p>\n

The woman did so and filled enough barrels to pay off the debtors,\u00a0with enough left\u00a0to sell and live on.<\/p>\n

According to the mathematics of man, that small bottle could not fill one-fiftieth of a barrel. But with God, all things are possible. He is a miracle working God, who desires to make His power known. By God’s mathematics, the poor woman filled all the barrels she could get her hands on with a small bottle of oil: a very small bottle.<\/p>\n

When Jesus walked on earth, he fed a crowd of five thousand people with two loaves of bread. And that my friend, is the power of God’s mathematics<\/a>.<\/p>\n
