The often, disbelievers use the people in the church as a weapon against Christianity. And often, we are to be blamed for the giving the “heathen much grounds for blasphemy.”

People often point their fingers on the members of the church as the reason they choose not to go to church. And indeed, they often have a valid point. That is because the church is not perfect!

But trust me, what goes on outside of the church is non the better!

When Jesus walked on earth, His disciples once criticized Him for making friends with a tax collector. Jesus turned and said to them, “I did not come for the righteous, but to bring sinners to repentance.”

And that’s the point I’m making here! There is no perfect church because the world is not perfect. The world fell from perfection when Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden. If the world was perfect, Jesus didn’t have to come down to earth to die for us. And there would have been no need for a church!

But the church opens its door to us even with all our worldly imperfections. As the bible said, “while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Remember that the people in the church have at least opened their hearts for transformation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Yes, Jesus does command us to be perfect as our heavenly father is perfect. But we can only achieve perfection through Him. And He opens the door of His church for even those who are badly stained by sin.

So the next time someone uses the shortcomings of the church for an excuse not to go there, understand in your heart that their point is not valid.
