\"workLife is not always a bed of roses. Very often we meet a barren ground or shrubs, thorns and thistles – and very bad drainage and irrigation.<\/p>\n

God often tests His servants to see what they are made of, as it says in the book of Proverbs “…the refining pot for silver and the furnace for gold, but God tries the hearts.”<\/p>\n

Sometimes, hardships could signify God’s warning that we are going astray, and that we should return to Him, but at other times, even the most devout believers in Jesus go through “periods of drought.”<\/p>\n

God sometimes put His people through periods of oppression to teach them important lessons such as humility and complete dependence on Him alone.<\/p>\n

If we examine the story of Moses leading God’s<\/a> people, the Israelites out of Egypt: out of bondage from Pharaoh, we’ll see that God allowed His people to be oppressed and enslaved by Pharaoh for FOUR HUNDRED YEARS. Now that’s a long time brothers and sisters.<\/p>\n

As Moses led God’s people out of Egypt, it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. There was very shortlived celebration. They were pursued by the enemy and reached a dead end at the Red Sea. It was then that God parted the Red Sea to demonstrate His presence and power to the people<\/a>. He would later bring water from a rock and throw manna from heaven to His hungry people.<\/p>\n

The legendary biblical King David was persecuted by his enemy Saul and went into exile for four years before God subdued all nations under his feet and made him ruler over Jerusalem.<\/p>\n

God’s tests are not always easy. He tries the “hearts and reigns.” But at the same time He promises that the righteous will never be forsaken.<\/p>\n

It is with these sentiments in mind that true Christians are able to go through the most trying of times with a smile on their faces and joy in their hearts: having perfect trust in God’s ever-abounding and never-failing love.<\/p>\n
