In the book of Psalms, David prayed for his son who will rule from coast to coast and for whom prayers will be said continually.

“He will bring justice to the poor and needy; He will save the children of the needy”.

Indeed, this could apply to David’s son Solomon to some extent; but if you put it under the microscope, you will see that Solomon is only able to fulfill this prophecy to a limited extent.

The only King who this prophecy perfectly fits is Jesus, the King of all Kings and Lord of all Lords.

David later goes on to say “He shall have dominion from sea to sea….”

Whereas Solomon was a great ruler, he obviously could not have had dominion from sea to sea. The only King who rules from sea to sea, even to this day, is Jesus our Lord.

David continues “all kings shall fall down before Him; and all nations shall serve Him….”

Indeed, David’s son Solomon was a great king and was respected by many peoples because of the wisdom which God endowed him with; but it is not possible for him to fulfill the above mentioned prophecy: not by a long shot. The only King who all kings and nations bow down and serve is the Son of David according to the flesh, the Son of the Most High God through immaculate conception, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In the same Psalms, 72, David proclaims “His name shall endure forever; His name shall continue as long as the sun. And men shall be blessed in Him; all nations shall call Him blessed.”

In other scriptures, David wrote that his throne will be established forever; but David’s throne in Israel was ended with Solomon who turned to pagan Gods and caused the loss of the entire kingdom.

“Out of Zion the Lord hath shone”, was a prophecy which was fulfilled only through Jesus Christ, the Messiah, and son of David according to the flesh, who has established the throne of David forever, even to this day, as God had promised.
