Religions of the World<\/h6>\n

 <\/p>\n

1. Christianity<\/strong> – Christians believe that the world was created by God in the beginning of time as known to human. God intended for mankind to leave in eternal bliss as long as they obey a single commandment: Do not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. However, the first woman disobeyed God, and the first man also. Consequently, death entered the world and they were forced to leave the “garden of Eden”. The first act of disobedience to God, and all other acts of disobedience to God, is called “sin”. According to Christianity, mankind is plagued with all kinds of imperfections, infirmities, diseases and death because of sin. To save mankind from sin, God sends his son to die on a cross. Anyone who believes in God’s redemption plan and proclaims Jesus as their Lord and savior will be saved from the second death and live forever in paradise. Learn more about Christianity here.<\/p>\n

2. Islam<\/strong> – A person who practices the religion of Islam is called a Muslim. The holy book of the Muslims is called the Koran. About 600 years after the advent of Jesus Christ, a man named Mohamed from the Middle East claimed that an angel of God spoke to him. He narrated a series of verses which were compiled into the book known as the Koran. He claimed that this was God’s final revelation to mankind and that the book will stand the test of time. Mohamed led armies across the then “known world” and slew everyone who refused to convert to Islam. He was eventually defeated and turned back by the French. Muslims claim that the Koran is God’s code of conduct to mankind, that it is a “mercy from God” and it fulfills God’s prophecy of taking about the covenant from the Jews and giving it to another people. 3. Judaism<\/strong> – Judaism is one of the world’s oldest religion and both Christianity and Islam claim to have their roots firmly grounded their. After Adam and Eve were forced to leave the garden of Eden, God cursed the ground because of their sin, and told the woman that she will bring forth her children through great pain because of her disobedience. However, God felt sorry for mankind and interacted with them in order to teach them how to live happier and better lives, and how to earn His mercies and blessings through His instructions. God handed down commandments and wisdom to help the people who listend to and obeyed from beginning of civilization. He gave Moses a set of laws and also the “ten commandments” to live by. While Christians claim that Judaism ended with Christ, the promise Messiah, Muslims claim that it ended with Mohamed and the Holy Koran, but the Jews of today deny both claims.<\/p>\n

4. Hinduism<\/strong> – People who believe in or practice Hinduism are called “Hindus”. They Hindus have many books, practices, gods and belief systems. Many of beleive that the Supreme Creator, God, manifest himself in different forms, and that all appearances of gods are the manifestions of the one true God. Some Hindus believe that there is no need to believe in any god as long you keep doing one good deed after the other to achieve better “karma” which will transcend into future lives. Hindus also believe that all that a person is today, and will be tomorrow is a result of the good or evil they had done or is doing.<\/p>\n

5. Budhism<\/strong> – Buddhists believe that “life is suffering” as the great Buddha put it. Buddha taught that one’s duty is the escape the life of the world through meditationa and good deeds until they reach a state of eternal bliss called “Nirvana”.<\/p>\n

6. Bahai –<\/strong> People of Bahai faith believe that ALL religions are correct because they represent God’s communication with people of different times and circumstances.
