Sometimes God sends a storm into your life. The storm will test you both physically and mentally. You may loose some of the things you cherished the most. You may experience anguish and frustration.
But you must stay strong through it all. God walks with you through the storm. He holds your hand as He tries your heart, as it is written, the refining pot for silver and the furnace for gold, but God tries the heart.
When the storm is over, God will make all things new and better than before. You will bloom brighter than before and your joy and peace will return with greater intensity. Stay strong through the storm.
In the old testament of the Bible, the servant of God, Job, faced one of the most testing storms imaginable. Job lost everything including his children. He even got sick and plagued by disease. But through the storm, Job did not sin with his mouth. Instead he said, “the Lord gives, and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
The bible tells us that we must be careful of the words that come out of our mouths because it is possible to sin with our mouth. In the book of Proverbs, it says, “Life and death are in the power of the tongue.” And Jesus tells us that, “it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a man, but what comes out of it.”
When we are facing a storm, we must be careful not to sin with our mouth, but to praise God continually, be thankful for all the good things He had done for us, and bless His holy name. This is our test. And if bless God with a heart of thanksgiving through our storms in life, He will bring us out greater than we went it. That is how we pass the test that God puts us through in the storm. And that is how God tries our hearts.
