Guyana is now an oil economy exporting millions of barrels of oil per year. This number will continue to increase over the coming years. The strengthening of the Guyana dollar against the US dollar due to oil exports may make it less competitive to manufacture certain items, but tourism stands tall as the king of the Guyanese economy, and there is where the government should plug its investments.
