The Bible tells us that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” The ideas of “faith” and “belief” go hand in hand. One cannot exist without the other. Faith is the complete acceptance that something will become reality even though there is no physical evidence that it will. In this case, faith serves as the evidence. Faith is 100% belief and 0% doubt. Through faith, Jesus tells us, we can move mountains. Remember when Jesus calmed the storm with His hands? He said to His disciples, “oh ye of little faith….” This implies that with faith, we can even impact the weather and natural phenomenon.

Throughout the Bible, God instructed people to take certain actions via which He performed miracles in their lives. God may put healing in the leaf of a tree, for example, and instruct a person to eat it. After that, they become healed through the expression of faith. But if another person with the same medical condition eats the same leaf, they may not be cured because they were not instructed by God. God did not put healing in the leaf for them, and healing for that medical condition does not naturally occur in the leaf.

In the Book of Kings of the Old Testament, God cured a man of leprosy by instructing him, via His prophet Elisha, to dip in the river Jordan seven times. Normally, dipping in the river Jordan doesn’t cure leprosy, but this time it worked because God put cure in the river at that time for that person. The man, Naaman, accessed God’s healing power through obedience and faith.

When Moses was sandwiched between the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s army, the Israelites feared that they would be eaten alive. However, God instructed Moses to put his rod over the sea and the waters parted. It wasn’t the rod that parted the waters, nor was it Moses. It was the power of God. God didn’t need Moses’ help in parting the Red Sea. He could have parted it without any action on Moses’ part. However, God caused Moses to access His power through faith and obedience.

In times of difficulties, God may deliver you through miracles. In this case, He will instruct you on what actions you must take. If you follow God’s commands and hearken to His voice to the letter with perfect faith, you will receive His miracles with mathematical certainty through divine providence. Remember, God can turn your water into wine, your darkness into light, your sorrow into joy, and your problems into profitable solutions. God is a miracle working God!
