\"usWhich is correct: you and I<\/em> or you and me<\/em>?<\/p>\n

The answer: they both could be correct: depending on how they are used.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s look at the following sentence:<\/p>\n

Jane invited you and I to the party on Friday.<\/p>\n

The above sentence is incorrect, but the one below is correct:<\/p>\n

You and I are going to the party on Friday. Why?<\/p>\n

It has to do with subject and object pronoun once again.<\/p>\n

If \u201cYou and I\u201d are going to the party on Friday, then \u201cYou and I\u201d are doing something. Therefore, you and I are subjects. Therefore, you use the subject pronoun I. Always remember that I is a subject pronoun and \u201cme\u201d is an object pronoun.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s examine the sentence again:<\/p>\n

Jane invited you and I to the party.<\/p>\n

In the above sentence, is \u201cI\u201d receiving an action or doing an action? I is receiving an action. \u201cI\u201d is \u201cbeing invited\u201d. Since anything that receives an action is an object, we must use the object pronoun \u201cme\u201d. So the sentence should read:<\/p>\n

Jane invited you and me to the party.<\/p>\n
