So we’ve been customizing our WordPress and this is what it looks like so far.<\/p>\n

OK, so those are a few screenshots of what the website looks like so far. Certainly not the most beautiful or exotic site the world, but we’re getting there!<\/p>\n
If you noticed, the menu is still in three locations in the theme. I’ve tried in the last tutorial to remove them, but there’re still there. That means I’m missing something, so I’ll go do some further digging.<\/p>\n
So let’s log back into our WordPress Dashboard: www.hotelamazonasgy.com\/wp-admin, enter username and password, click Login.<\/p>\n
Once inside the Dashboard, click on Appearance >> Customize. And this leads the customization screen.<\/p>\n

So I’m going to click on Navigation and Menu Settings. This opens a new screen.<\/p>\n

This opens a new screen as you can see in the above screenshot. As you can see, all the boxes there are ticked. That’s why the menu is appearing in so many places. So I’ll untick all the boxes except the second one “Switch on Top Menu.” Then I’ll click Publish and I’ll reload my website in a different browser to see if the changes took effect.<\/p>\n

And yes! I did it! Now the menu is in just one place. So we’re getting there.<\/p>\n
What’s the next step? The awesome thing about this particular theme is that it offers some widget areas that most other themes don’t. And that’s one of the the reason why I chose this theme instead of others: it gives greater customization options.<\/p>\n
Next, we’ll try to put an image slider someone at the top of the website using a widget. There is a widget called “HomePage Top Sidebar” which allows to place a widgets at the top of the page.<\/p>\n
But before we make this customization, we need to ask ourselves: do we even have this widget as yet? We do have a few widgets there,and there is one that slides images, but to get the right widget that I have in mind, requires us to install a plugin.<\/p>\n
What’s a plugin? That’s a good question, and I’m glad you asked. (Did you?) Well, so far, I didn’t even touch on plugins in these tutorials. But installing and configuring plugins is a very crucial steps in building a secure and functional WordPress Website.<\/p>\n
