When it comes to web development, the question often comes up “which is the best text editor for hand coding?”<\/p>\n
Well, I’ll tell you a little story; and this goes back to the good old days of when I use to code my very first webpages in the most basic (you guessed it) HTML coding language. Or should I say “the famed HTML”?<\/p>\n
I can still remember the magic of it all: of spinning out the first few lines of code and turning it into an HTML webpage.<\/p>\n
And what is the text editor I started with? The most basic of all: notepad. It got the job done. Or at least, the little that I needed to get done at that point.<\/p>\n
But what is the recommended text editor today for the ambitious web developer? There are so many, both free and paid.<\/p>\n
Personally, I’d say that notepad++ is just good enough for the average web developer. It’s feature rich and FREE.<\/p>\n
You can download notepad++ from the website notepad-plus-plus.org.<\/p>\n
But remember that notepad++ will not work on Mac or Linux computers. It’s a windows based software.<\/p>\n
If\u00a0 you’re running Mac or Linux, you do have some really good alternatives. And my personal recommendation is Sublime Text. You can download Sublime Text at www.sublimetext.com.<\/p>\n
