The boulanger plant is also known as:<\/p>\n

The Eggplant<\/p>\n

The Aubergine<\/p>\n

And the Baigan Plant.<\/p>\n

Scientific Name: Solanum Melongena<\/p>\n

The boulanger plant produces a healthy fruit which makes a good breakfast and other dainty dishes. When I came to visit Mr. Wayne Augusto Mann in Bonfim, around November, 2017, I saw a dying boulanger plant in his backyard which he had planted some time back.<\/p>\n

The leaves and and stem were scorched and I figured that this was due to lack of water and the hot climate. I must mention here that Bonfim is one of the hottest regions on earth, although not the hottest by any means.<\/p>\n

I told Wayne that I would do some work on this plant. He laughed a little. “Why not plant a new one,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Why?” I replied. “When I can easily revive this one?”<\/p>\n

Besides, planting new ones is no problem, but that shouldn’t deter me from taking care of this one.<\/p>\n

“Plants are not like animals or human beings,” Wayne laughed. “That you have to rescue. They’re just plants. They can be replaced!”<\/p>\n

That is in the mind of the average person, but not so for the organic gardener. The organic gardener has a passion for rescuing plants just as much as human beings or animal.<\/p>\n

So, without further ado, I will get to work and post pictures here of my progress with this boulanger plant.<\/p>\n

Day 2 – Tilling the soil -10th November, 2017<\/p><\/div>\n

Day 2 – Soaking the dry, parched ground with water. – 10th November, 2017.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"

Day 2 – retilling and resoaking – repeating the process. 10th November 2017<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"

Repeat the process until there is water clogging and run off of water. 10th November, 2017<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"

Retill and rewater several times until the soil is saturated with water. 10th November, 2017<\/p><\/div>\n

Sprinkle a little cow manure around the root and water lightly. 10th November, 2017<\/p><\/div>\n

Pack dry grass around the root and let nature work its magic. – End of day 2’s activities. 10th November, 2017.<\/p><\/div>\n
