Lesson 4 – Good Morning, Good Day, Good Afternoon
As expressões “bom dia”, “boa tarde” e “boa tarde” são amáveis saudações usadas por pessoas todos os dias.

The expressions “good morning”, “good day”, and “good afternoon” are courteous greetings used by people every day.

Você diz“bom dia”quando você conhece alguémpela primeira vezno período da manhã.

You say “good morning” when you meet someone for the first time in the morning.

“Bom dia” é realmente uma forma abreviada de dizer “eu lhe desejo um bom dia”.

“Good morning” is really a short way of saying “I wish you a good morning”.

Você diz a alguém “boa tarde” se vocês  se conhecerem ao meio-dia.

You tell someone “good day” if you meet each other at twelve o’clock noon.

Qualquer momento após  as 12h, meio-dia, enquanto houver sol, é chamado de “tarde”.

Any time after twelve o’clock noon, while the sun is still up, is called “afternoon”.

Se você encontrar alguém pela primeira vez no período da tarde, você diz “boa tarde”.

When you meet someone for the first time in the afternoon, you say “good afternoon”.

O idioma Inglês tem três expressões para desejos diurnos: bom dia, boa tarde, e boa tarde;

 mas a língua portuguesa tem apenasduas:bom dia eboa tarde.
