acai photoDuring my travels throughout Brazil, I noticed lots of shops and juice stands selling acai. It is a delicious glass of semi liquid that is purple in color and served. I bought quite a few I must say.

The fact that acai berries are native to the Amazon rain forest explains why it is so readily available and abundantly served in Brazil.

I had heard that the buzz that acai is a superfood. Exactly how and why it is a superfood, up to the point of writing these few lines, I did not know. But I had heard it over and over from a variety of reliable sources – that acai is a superfood with a wide array of health benefits. So I decided to do some research into the health benefits of acai, and I’ll outline them here for you.
