I had to write this story down because the incident actually happened. I read of the incident in a Guyanese newspaper and I couldn’t stop laughing for quite some time.
Sometimes when a headteacher of a school is sick or unable to perform his or her duty, a senior teacher is appointed to perform the duties of the headteacher, even though he or she is not the headteacher. In this case, an “acting headteacher” takes up the role of the missing headteacher.
In Guyana, somewhere near to Georgetown, a man was arrested for breaking another man’s car windshield while intoxicated with alcohol.
He denied the charges and when asked by the magistrate what his name was he said he was the “acting Christ”.
