Website Design and Development: An Introduction by Patrick Carpen.
Back in the good old days of pioneering the web, websites weren’t always that impressive; and building them weren’t so simple either. You had to hand-code line after line of strange characters to make sure your website does exactly what you wanted it to do.
And at the end of the day, there was only so much you could showcase, and so much you could do.
Then someone came up with the first “drag and drop” software. Things just weren’t the same after that. The growing need for websites gave rise to dozens of software companies rolling out their own web design software, to the point where the seasoned handcoder was left ultimately in the dark. Well, sort of.
Webhost companies and domain registration companies soon joined the goldrush. It turns out everyone needs a website, and the world keeps going more and more online everyday.
With the hundreds and thousands of web design and development tools and software being distributed all across the internet, and the world as a whole, the average user is left groping in the dark when it comes to choosing the best web design/development tools for his or her needs.
What it boils to is this: how do you get on the straight and narrow path to becoming a competent web developer? The Answer can be found in my book “Build Your Website” by Patrick Carpen.
